Happy Saturday everyone!!

Can you believe it's May already? Geez - time is flying by this year. I'm already halfway through my first term back in school! Un-be-lievable and scaarry...

I wanted to make a decision about going back to school full-time in July. It all depends on whether I get a full-time job offer by then and if I like my classes next term. EEeek!!!

Scary thought - being a broke student again for another 3 years...but I'm trying not to freak out too much and just keep trusting God. He's always provided for me and I know he'll continue to do so.

My card features one of the cute Penguins from the Cat's Pajamas. I just adore these little rascals, they are too cute!! This particular stamp and the sentiment are both part of the set By the Sea.

These black and white patterned papers are part of a pack I found at Michaels. It's really a great collection of black&white DP by Me and My Big Ideas.

A little stitching, a clear button, some pop-up dots and crystal effects complete my card today.

Hi guys - did you have a great day? I hope you did. I had a lot of fun at class today: we went on a field trip to one of the VFX studios here in LA. It was really cool to get a tour and to get to talk to one of the Lead Artists there.

After that I went home, worked some more on my homework, watched some 24 and got to make a card! Yay!

The card I made is for this weeks' SCS Sketch challenge. It's a fun one!! And I thought it would be perfect to use with this cutie whale stamp from The Cat's Pajamas' set By the Sea.

The papers I used are from the Tahiti Beach Stack by DCWV. This stack is perfect for male cards and I

just love it!!

{Bag Lady}

Hi guys!! After my super simple cards the last two days I wanted to share this fun card I made for my friend Stacy, who is a purse-lover through and through.

Hehe I always laugh because whenever she goes to the outlet mall, which has a Coach store, she comes back with another purse or two.

So when I spotted this adorable stamp set by My Favorite Things I laughed so hard I just had to get it! The inside of the card reads: You give Bag Lady a whole new meaning!

Something fun I did with this image here is I used Crystal Effects for the display window and I used some Stickles Glitter on the yellow purse to really make it a focal point of the card. I also paper pieced quite a bit and then the rest is colored in with Copic Markers.

The papers I used are from the Girl Friday collection by Cosmo Cricket and the Ooh La La collection by My Minds' Eye. Some embellishments I used here are a large button from My Favorite Things, some ribbon, twill tape and jute twine. V

Hi everyone!! First of I wanted to thank all of you who voted for my team during the Greeting Farm Design Team Battle!! Thanks to you we made 3rd Place!! YAY!!! You guys are the best!! We appreciate it sooo much!!!

So now it's Wednesday and that means it's Wednesday Stamp Club over at My Favorite Things. This week Kim is challenging us to Keep It Super Simple!

Now if you know me, you know that keeping it simple is generally not that easy for me but I tried my hardest to stay away from my sewing machine and any kind of brads and other embellishments. I didn't even use a border punch although I was really itching to use one.

So let me tell you what I did do:

I used some Nesties and sponged the smallest white circle so my clear button would stand out more.

I used Millie the Mouse from My Favorite Things and kept her relatively bare to go with the overall feel of the card.

Happy Monday everyone!! I hope you all had a great weekend! I was Miss Clumsy yesterday and you're going to laugh when I tell you what I did.

I was walking to my car from church and somehow my heel got caught in my pants and I did a wonderful swan dive to the asphalt.

Now the real funny part was how fast I got up! I don't think I've ever gotten up so fast in my entire life! lol

My knees are pretty banged up, my hand too and my pants ripped but other from that I'm ok. I forgot how much those abrasions can hurt!!

So no yoga for me yesterday and a 24 marathon instead. I know I know I'm like 10 years behind on the 24 craze but at least this way I won't go crazy having to wait for next week's episode. :)

Now it's Monday and that means the ladies over at Verve have come up with another fabulous sketch for us to play with.

I just got my very first Taylored Expression stamps - I'm blaming you Amber ;) - and I've been looking forward to getting them inked up so why not do that today?! And I did!

This cute lemonade set is from the Chillax set by Taylored Expressions. I put the lemons on some pop-p dots to add a bit more dimension to the card and I doodled a little border around the image.

Oh and did ya notice I joined the Clear Button frenzy that seems to be going around?

{Rockstar vs Cheerleader} Message Door Signs

Hi everyone,

here's a little project I made as a back up for the final round of the TGF Battle of Design Teams.

This week's challenge was about creating two coordinating projects, one for a girl and one for a boy.

I came up with these cute Door Signs that double as Mini Message Boards, one for a teenage boy and one for a young girl.

This project was actually super easy to make as soon as I had figured out the general layout. I really just

bought two unfinished frames at Michaels, painted them with acrylic paint, cut out some cork board for the middle or the picture part of the frames and then decorated them. That's it!

Can I point out a few fun details to you, if you don't mind?

Did you notice the fun rhinestones swirls and the cute little stars on my Anya board? I also added some Stickles Glitter to her pom pom's. :) And best of all: the glittery, pink push pin that was a lucky find at Michaels!!! Oh and are you wondering how I got my Cheerleader Anya to be this big? Easy, I took the stamped image and scanned it into the computer and from there I was able to make her bigger.

My Rockstar board has even more fun stuff to talk about: there are the screw brads that I've come to adore, some random staple action all over the frame and then I embossed a piece of candy wrapper paper and stuck that behind my drummer boy.

I also got some cute little skull and bones foam stickers. I stuck one of them on top of a patterned button and that's what you see in the bottom right corner. Let's see...did I forget anything? Oh yeah lol the mini safety pin that's holding in the note? That one came with an old Victoria Secret order. lol

{Glitzy 4 U} SFYTT

So I was a bit stamp challenged when I made this first card here and if there ever was such a thing as an evil card - this was it for me! I can't even tell you how many versions I played with in my head, my sewing machine jammed oh every other stitch - it wasn't pretty BUT eventually I was able to get it together and now I actually kinda love it. Yay!!

As you've guessed it's Jen's Sketch For You To Try! I did enjoy this one despite all the pains I went through with my first card but that's why it's called a challenge, right? I liked it so much actually that I made another card a little bit later on, which you can see below.

The papers I used for both cards actually are from My Mind's Eye Ohh La La collection. I had totally forgotten that I had this DP and was so excited when I spotted it again.

Both images are by My Favorite Things. I paper pieced a part of the image, colored in the rest with Copic Markers and added some Stickles Glitter to 'em. Embellies complete both designs.

Tips'n'Tricks: I highly...highly recommend that you always start out your card with deciding on an image first and then laying out your papers. I tried it the other way around and...well...let's just say it was really really hard.

I love this cute little Pooh saying stamp, I think the font and the little flower are just adorable and with mother's day just around the corner I made this card. So this week I'm doing my Mojo Monday on a Wednesday, I hope that didn't throw you all of.

For this card I was still very inspired by Amy's TCP Tuesday challenge, which was all about getting corked this week and I was inspired by Susan's coloring. I loved it so much I just had to give it a try myself.

I needed a male funky fresh card for the rector of my church because I really just wanted to thank him for all he does for us. You see the rectors and priests in my church don't get paid and I think we as members sometimes forget that.

So this is what I came up with and can I tell you that I just love love love how my card turned out?! This sketch is purely awesome!! What a keeper!! And I'm also really lovin' this color combo! I'll definitely be doing more yellow, kraft and black cards in the future.

Let's get to some of the deets, shall we:

I really only used one DP for this and that's the yellow Bitty Box Basics paper by PaperTrey Ink. The "Thanks" pattern on the Kraft CS was stamped using my TCP stamp and then there is the piece of Cork.

My image is the cutie petutie bear PJ from the Cat's Pajamas' set a Beary Good Year. One of my all-time favorite sets because you can make cards all year round, for all occasions, with just this one single set! If you haven't seen it- seriously you have to check it out!

Tips 'n' Tricks: why not layer different ribbons? Here I put a smaller striped ribbon on top of a wide Twill Tape Band. It's a fun way to add texture to your card.

Hi everyone, I got down and funky for this week's TCP Tuesday challenge that's being hosted by our swanky-fab Amy and she's challenging us to get corked!!

Yup you heard me - get corked ladies and then make sure to upload your cork-y creation to Alma's guestbook because she will pick one fabulous stamper and crown her the Swanky Stamper of the month and that person gets $25 in Cat Cash (money to spend on the TCP website)!! With all these rockin' new releases out who wouldn't want a little extra cash,

Now I gotta tell you that I found it a challenge in it's own right, trying to track down some cork board and in case you feel the same way I'm gonna list a few places where you should be able to find some:

your local hardware store, Target, Wal-Mart, Sears. Good luck with your cork hunt! :)

A little about my card:

I used papers from the Garden Variety collection by Cosmo Cricket. I just love this bright, funky collection!!

The images I used are from the brand new, just released Hola Tequila and Salud Set by the Cat's Pajamas. I don't know what it is but there's just something about a cute little tipsy penguin, don't you think so too?

I colored all the images in using my Copic Markers, propped them up on some Pop-Up Dots and added some Crystal Effects to all the glasses which you can kinda see in the detail shot here.

{Stuck?} WSC with a twist

Hehe so I was having a lot of fun with this week's Wednesday Stamp Club challenge. The challenge was to create a card

* using any MFT sets that fits the April Showers theme

* using the layout Kim used

* using a custom embellishment

I picked the April Showers theme but I added a little twist to it. Oh and I made my own custom sentiment.

Clearly inspired by the recent volcano outbreak and the fact that I had to postpone my Germany trip because of it I interpreted the April Showers as in Raining Ashes, get it? Fun right?

So what did I use?

I used my brand-new-Bubble-Bin-purchased-treasured set Going Places by My Favorite Things. I adore this set I really do. To make my WTGirl really stand out I propped her up on Pop-Up Dots and added some Crystal Effects to her map.

The sentiment was a collage of different letters/parts from different sets. The Going Places came with the set. I took the question mark from the Going Somewhere? and stuck it on my custom sentiment. The Not was made up using different parts of sentiments in the Twisted Threesome set.

The patterned paper is from the Quite Contrary Line by My Mind's Eye. This color combo is one of my all-time favorites! I just love teal and red together!

The newspaper article you see there is just that: I did a google search, found an article with a picture I liked, I scaled it down to about 30%, printed it and aged it a little.

{{{Hugs}}} Farm Fresh Friday

Well it's beginning to look more and more like I won't be going to Germany next week. My grandma is turning 90 so my parents and I were planning on a little, short trip over there but now with this volcano eruption in Iceland?!

Even if they open air traffic again by let's say Monday - the airports are going to be a major mess and I don't really feel like adding that much drama to a one-week trip that's already going to be stressful.

But when you look on the bright side of this situation I can't even tell you how thankful I am that this happened now and not while we were in the middle of traveling. I feel terrible for all the travelers who are now stranded somewhere because of this. I hope everyone makes it home safe and sound!!!

I was also able to play along with this weeks Farm Fresh Friday Sketch Challenge over at the Greeting Farm because I didn't run all those errands I had planned on for the journey.

Yay - time to ink up my brand new O&A Buddies set. Isn't little popped up Oliver with pooch just adorable? What a cutie pie!! Anywho I also love this image because it gives you so much to color and play with. Can you say Copic Practice Time?!

The papers I used here are from a long forgotten mat pack by Me&My Big Ideas that I found when I was looking for another DP. I love the doodle look - I think it's perfect for a boy's card.

{Giddy 'Up} SFYTT

So I got a new toy this week, something I needed for class and that's a Wacom Tablet. That's one of those big touch pads you use with a pen to draw on and it can also function as your mouse - does that make sense?! I'm sure you know what I mean...anyway, this thing took a bit getting used to but I think I got the hang of it now... well kinda sorta...my drawings still look like chicken scratch. Sigh... I guess practice is everything.

But before I spend hours in front of the computer again- let's talk cards!!

It's Saturday and time for another Sketch For You To Try by the always amazing Jen del Muro!

I just got this darling Cheeky Rockabilly from The Greeting Farm in the mail and had to use it right away! As you can see I ended up tweaking Jen's sketch just a tiny bit to accommodate my Cheeky Lady.

The patterned paper I used - can you believe it? I only used one patterned paper for this card

- is called East Meets West and is made by Moxxie. I found it at my local Scrapbooking Store and just loved the look.

The tree-lookin' strip behind Rockabilly started out as just a plain ole' cream CS. I took my Cuttlebug Embossing Folder and inked it up with Antique Linen Distress Ink, put my cream CS in it, ran it through my Big Shot and distressed the edges with Soft Suede ink as finishing touch.

Tips'n'Tricks: Need a not-so-white thread that you don't have? Just sponge some ink over your white thread and that'll cut down some of the brightness.

{Cyber Hugs} Mojo134

Hi everyone - I've had such a busy start to the week (there was the Cat's Pajamas New Release Blog Hop that I hope you didn't miss and then there was school and stuff) that I just now got around to posting my card for this week's Mojo Monday.

This week it was Teresa who came up with this awesome, funky sketch which I just adored. Let me warn you though - it will challenge you to think a bit...well at least I had to think and play around with it for a while until I had it all worked out.

The image I used for this card is from the Who's that E-Girl? set by My Favorite Things Set. This cutie was in my mailbox on Monday and I thought it would just be perfect for this sketch!!

If you know this set you'll notice that I cropped the image to fit my card a teensy bit better. How did I do that? Easy - I just masked the bottom and side of my paper, stamped it and connected the lines (I wanted a more messy, sketch look so that's what

you see there). Handy little trick, right?

I also did a ton of paper piecing and applied Crystal Effects to her laptop for some extra shine.

The papers I used are from none other than the Quite Contrary Line by My Mind's Eye. Hehe I just replenished my stack.

Tips'n' Tricks: When you're laying your card out and somehow it just doesn't feel right to you, then it just may be that your papers don't quite go together as nicely as you thought so my suggestion to you is to not give up and play around with different combinations until you find one where it just all seems to click. Most importanly though: Don't give up!! Make it work as Tim Gunn would say!! :)

One of my favorite aspect about TCP stamp sets besides the whole cuteness factor (obviously) is that they are also oh so versatile!!!

For example:

If you love the little salt shaker and lime background (I always take my tequila w/ cinnamon and an orange so there you go) then you are in luck: that cutie is actually a stamp and part of the set! Bottom's up!

The great little zig zag teal border around my tequila drinkin' penguin is also a stamp from the same set.

Wanna create a cute little scene like this one?

All you need is a little masking, a black pen and the Hola Tequila set which comes with all these great little elements.

I mean really - the possibilities are just endless!!

{Tutu Much} SFYTT & another TCP PREVIEW

Yay - Spring is officially here and how can you have Spring without a good ole' fashioned Spring Cleaning?!

I added my own twist to the word this year - did 'ya notice?

I gave my Blog a good ole' Spring Make-over... and I didn't completely botch it all up! Yippee!! No all-nighter for me tonight, trying to fix everything. lol

I also survived my first week of classes - and not just survived I actually had FUN!!!

Now if I can just get all my homework done lol.

Let's talk cards for a moment shall we? That's so much more fun than homework. This here is my card for this week's SFYTT challenge , featuring the newest member of the Cat's Pajama's family.

I feel like I've been making a bunch of boy cards lately so I wanted to go girly for today. :)

The papers I used are from the Cosmo Cricket Mini Deck Earth Love. At first I wasn't all so sure about this paper but now that I've used it I can't seem to get enough of it. lol

Something new and fun I tried on this card is use thin Twill Tape for the bow and layer it on top of a really wide Twill Tape band. I really love how that came out!
