{Gobble Gobble} SFYTT

Hi everyone,

it's Saturday!!! Yay right?! Although this Saturday means that November is literally knocking on our doorsteps and you know what that means...christmas and finals are only a flash away!! Yaaayy...I mean yikes for the finals part but yay for christmas, spending time with family and friends, the smell of cinnamon and hot chocolate, having a little time off from school....oh yes - my favorite time of the year! :)

But we're not quite there yet so let's look at this super fun SFYTT sketch from the fabulous Jen del Muro. I needed to make a few more thanksgiving cards so I scowered my stamp stash and found this cute Clearly Swanky Set by the Cat's Pajamas called Gobble It Up. I had almost forgotten I had this one...isn't Sprinkle just too cute?!
Oh which reminds me: The Cat's Pajamas'  has a new release coming up in a few weeks and I'm sure you'll get to see plenty of Sneak Peeks over the next couple of days so stay tuned for sure!!

Okay...ready to see what else you can do with this sketch?! Check out my amazingly talented SFYTT Sisters:

thanks so much for stopping by!!
I hope you have a great weekend!!

{a lil Flag Birthday} SFYTT & Lil Inker Designs

Hi guys,

ahhh you're not gonna believe what happened to me with my storyboarding midterms this week. I'm not so much an illustrator than a digital painter so I did my storyboards in photoshop and I was really really happy with how they had turned out...all 60 panels, 20 pages - I've literally spent days on these puppies...aaaaaand then I find out we have to do them traditionally, with pen and paper only. Yeah...you can only imagine my joy at that moment!! Thank heaven for a light table and wine...that's all I'm gonna say to that one! lol

Well... I went to Michael's the other day and picked up some beautiful paper I normally wouldn't pick up because they are perhaps a bit of a stretch for me...but you know me, I love a good challenge.
The paper pack I'm talking about is the Isabelle Collection by Anna Griffin and has some amazing, colorful patterned DP that just make me think of India. I have never been so I could be completely wrong but these papers just give me a warm exotic feeling....which made me think of Sankari, whom I had the pleasure of getting to know a little better during my time as Verve Guest Diva! She has that warm, exotic style, which I truly admire because it is so unique and so her!!! Anyway...these papers made me channel my inner Sankari :)

Whew...I'm chatty today.
So let me finally get to the important details: Today's SFYTT sketch challenge is sponsored by Lil Inker Designs!!! See the cute little Happy Birthday Flag?!
That's the very first design Laura Pryor (the heart and soul of Lil Inker) has designed...it also comes with a matching die. Isn't it just adorable?! And practical...now me... being the true German girl that I am... LOVE me something cute and practical all in one!!

Okay...what do you need to do to win this cutie stamp set plus die?!
Play along using Jen's sketch and upload your fabulous creation to her blog!! You could also win the title of next month's Guest Designer!!
Need a little more inspiration?
Stop by these fabulous and famous designers for some eye candy: (I promise -no cavities) ;)
Jen del Muro and a big hearty welcome

Some drawings, a painting and a lil 3D...

Hi guys,

I know I've been a little MIA lately but that's because life and in particular
school has caught up with me. As many of you already know I was
accepted into my school's 2 year program, which means I'm now a
full-time CG/Animation/Visual FX student and let's just say I don't have a whole lot
of stampin' time left....so I thought how about I share some of the things I've been working
on in class with you so you can actually see what I spend most of my time doing nowadays. :)

here's one of my digital paintings:

and here are some storyboards:

and last but not least here's a little 3D mini solar system I did for my Texture Mapping class:

so that's all I've got for you for now.

I hope you like what I've been working on in school and see you
on Saturday for my weekly SFYTT sample. :)

Have a great day!!

{Courage} SFYTT

Hi guys,
I'm just dropping in real quick to share my card with you today. Midterms are fast
approaching and I've got my hands full but I was able to sneak in a card for Jen's SFYTT
sketch challenge. Yay!!!

For this card here I used stamps from Verve's Blue Skies set. I just can't get enough
of that set...really...it's a problem. lol
The papers I used are from the Amber Autumn Stack Collection by DCWV. I'm normally not a huge fan of DCWV but I really really like this one. It's got a lot of great patterns and
different color schemes in it. As accents I used pearls today which is not my usual choice in embellies but I think it works here.

Are you as curious as I am to see what my fabulous SFYTT Sisters have come up with? Be sure to stop by their blogs and check it out:

thanks so much for stopping by!!!
I've gotta run, my storyboards are waiting for me. :)

{My Cup of Tea} TCP Tuesday 130

Hi guys,

well I'm back in town after one heck of an exhausting weekend in Miami. Two of my friends from college got married and I got to be a bridesmaid. I never quite realized how much work goes into a wedding until now. Wow!! Is all I can really say to that lol...and when I get married I'm hiring a wedding planner for sure!! lol

So today is Tuesday and that means it's time for another TCP Tuesday challenge! Are you ready to get your stamp on?

Toni is our challenge hostess this week and she has a super cute inspirational photo for all of us to work from. And yes, of course it is pink and that is because it is Breast Cancer Awareness month (in case you hadn't heard). Soooo what's in it for you?
Well - for one you'd be entering your fabulous creation for the Swanky Stamper of the month contest (there's a $25 in Cat Cash involved too) AND you can also link your swanky stuff to The Cat's Pajama's Customer Blog Hop (the Best design wins our entire new release and gets to play with the Cat Pack!!!)
If that's not motivation well then I don't know...lol

For my card here I used stamps from Toni's Tea Set by The Cat's Pajamas and did lots of distressing and aging to the edges. I also got a bit funky with my stitches and added some chunky Stickles Glitter to the steam of my tea.

thanks so much for stopping by!!
I hope you have a fabulous week!! I'm off doing homework. :)

{Things are gonna get better} SFYTT

Happy Saturday everyone!!

Yay!!! Can you believe it's the weekend already again?! Time really does fly doesn't it?
Well...I'm out of town this weekend actually because my friends are getting married. They've been dating since college and today's the day they are going to exchange their I do's. :)
I'll tell you all about it when I get back in town...and have caught up on some sleep and homework of course. ;)

So let's talk about our SFYTT challenge this week. The one and only Jen del Muro presents us every week with a great sketch. Play along for a chance of winning our next month's Guest Designer Spot!!
This card here was for my friend who just celebrated her birthday (I got her a book) despite the fact that she's been feeling a bit down lately so I thought this little sentiment (compliments of Verve), coupled with the cute mouse from the Greeting Farm would be just perfect.

Here's the list of my fabulous SFYTT Sisters:

{a whole lot a Drama} Verve Card Making Day

well hello there from a real rainy Cali,

yup...it's officially fall...well for today at least, tomorrow it could be a 100 degrees and sunshine again like last week. lol
Life has gotten really busy for me all of a sudden, which is in way a good thing but it also means I haven't had a whole lot of time for crafting soo I'm super excited that I was able to sneak in one card for Verve's World Card Making Day Release challenge...whew, say that ten times fast. lol

I just picked the very first sketch and went for the sorta shabby vintage feel with a whole lot a drama...haha kinda like how my life has been lately.
Oh it's been a real mess...here are two quotes actually that describe it perfectly: Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.  Well...that's all nice and good but let's face it when we're heartbroken it sounds like a bunch of you-know-what and this is where another favorite quote of mine comes in handy, one that has really helped me get through this past week: If you cry because the sun has left your life, your tears will prevent you from seeing the stars.
It's such an honest quote, acknowledging that sometimes yes, we do go through hard times but then it also shifts our focus away from the one seemingly gigantic negative thing and refocuses it on the many perhaps smaller but countless beautiful things in our life. I just love it and it was exactly what I needed to remind myself of last week!!

But you came here to hear something about cards sooooo let me see what I can tell you about this one here ..oh I know...let's start with stamps: the sentiment I used here, which I stamped in Cloudy Blue and then embossed with clear embossing powder, is from the Verve set Framed Wishes and the frame around it is from the set Love Story.

The blue paper is by Tim Holtz, the black and white polka dotted paper is from Petite Pages by Webster's Pages and the black and white striped paper is from the Basic Pack by DCWV. To make them all go together I distressed the edges pretty heavily with ink and scissors.

I also ruffled a part of my black ribbon using this fabulous tutorial by my dear friend and fellow Cat Packer Joanne. The final touch to it all: some black chipboard stickers!

thanks so much for stopping by!!
Have a great week and if you feel as though your sun has left you - focus on the stars and know that whatever it is...it'll be all right!

{You're a Hoot} TCP Tuesday 130

Hi guys,

well it's Tuesday and after my little wallowing episode last week I'm finally starting to feel like myself again. Yay!!! I'm so relieved I can't even tell you...I couldn't even stand myself at the end there. lol But it's a new week and things are looking up.
So back to Tuesday because as you know...that can only mean one thing: it's time for another TCP Tuesday challenge!! Are you ready??

This week Leigh is our hostess with the mostess, which can only mean a sketch challenge right? Well Leigh is been having some problems with her shoulder so none other than the fabulous Alma has jumped in and created this fun little sketch here for all of us to play with.

Wanna know what's in it for you?
Well - all you need to do is create something swanky using the sketch of course, upload it to your SCS gallery and link it to Alma's Blog.
That way you have entered your card for our Swanky Stamper of the month contest who also gets $25 in Cat Cash!!!
You can read up on all the rest of the deets here.

I'm so ready for fall and it's just not getting any cooler here in LA at the moment so I thought maybe... if I made a fall card...fall would come a little sooner? lol Oh well I tried. :)
So the stamps I used are from the set Who's This? which is one of our brand new sets available over at the Cat's Pajamas.

I also used one of our brandnew dies: the inside pinking border CutUps, which has really become one of my go to border dies. I just love it.
Then I also layered some ribbon with the pom pom trim to give it a little bit more width, some stitching, glitter and crystal effects complete the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a fabulous week!!!

{Boo} SFYTT & TCP Tuesday 128

okay wooooow...I'm really off my game at the moment and I'm so sorry: I completely got my sketches mixed up and had posted next week's sketch instead of this week's sketch.
It's all fixed now but I'm terribly sorry if I caused any confusion!!

As you can tell I really haven't been myself lately because well... things with the boyfriend didn't work out, he just sorta disappeared on me, leaving me guessing whether it was me or just his way of dealing with the fact that it looks as though his football career is over... either way..that has a lot to do with it and I have to admit I'm not dealing with it all that well.

Okay...enough with the drama portion of this post..{roll eyes I hate drama...I really do} let's talk cards for a bit here...now that I have the RIGHT card up...hehe.
This card here is a double hitter: using this week's SFYTT sketch and fulfilling this week's TCP Tuesday's Stamp Challenge, which is being hosted by the fabulous Susan Liles and she challenged us to use any PJ stamp by the Cat's Pajamas.

Are you ready to see what my other fabulous SFYTT sisters have come up with?

SFYTT

Hi everyone,

I'm sorry to say that I don't have a sample for this week's SFYTT sketch challenge just yet but I should have something for you by this afternoon.

Please stop by my sisters and see what they've come up with:

To be fully honest with you I haven't really been myself lately. Things with the boyfriend did not work out, he just sort of disappeared and of course right as I was really starting to like him...thankfully school has started back up and that's been keeping me busy but I haven't felt like doing much crafting at the moment. Hopefully I'll snap out of it soon. Sulking doesn't really suit me. lol
