{Sm'ore Memories} TCP Tuesday 343

Hi everyone,

I just received my order from Papertrey Ink and I was so excited, although I had to pay a hefty extra tax on it. Welcome to life in Europe I guess. :P I may have to look into the European stamp market because at this rate, this is going to become a very expensive hobby .

Anyway, a hole in my wallet later, I hopped right into the TCP Challenge. I paired the Scene It dies by Papertrey Ink with some of my all time favorite stamps by The Cat's Pajamas, now sadly retired. I used PJ from A Beary Good Year and had him go camping with stamps from a Happy Camper. The sentiment is from another retired set but this time an MFT set.

Here is my card:

{Manly Wishes} and TCP Tuesday 341

Hi,

I needed to make some gift card holder cards for my cousin's two teenage boys. I really enjoy making more masculine cards because it pushes me to try some color combinations I normally wouldn't. In this case I combined an olive green with a desaturated blue. I probably should resist using glitter stickles but um that...they'll just have to live with. :)

Here are my cards - the stamps are from The Cat's Pajamas. Unfortunately both of these sets are now retired as far as I know but Alma does have some really cute new stamps on her website so be sure to check them out if you're not familiar with TCP.

This one here I actually made for the TCP Tuesday Tag challenge (TCP Tuesday 341) but unfortunately I was too late to submit it. Oohhh well ...I still had fun making it and that's the most important part. :)

I used a couple of different dies for the cards. I used the Die-namics Stitched Rectangle Stax for the first card. For the second card I used The Big Stripes Cover Panel Confetti Cut by Reverse Confetti. I cut it out of dark grey and white cardstock and offset them a bit from each other to give a bit of a shadowing effect.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Merry Christmas!!

{Travel vacation} SFYTT

Hi everyone,

Making my card I got really inspired to make another...so the next day, when I had a moment I made this card here, using the March SFYTT sketch. I'm a huge fan of Jen's sketches. They are always a little more complex than the average sketch, giving ample opportunity for me to challenge myself and try something new. This time I wanted to push my pattern limits. Patterns for some reason always scare me a bit but at the same time I'm always super impressed when I see someone who's really good at using them.

I figure - it's just a matter of practice. :)
Oh and here's the sketch I've been raving about so much:

Isn't it fun?!
If you participate and use Reverse Confetti stamps you even have the chance to win something. I unfortunately don't own any Reverse Confetti stamps yet so no chance for me but I still had fun playing along. The stamps I used are a hodge podge mix from The Cat's Pajamas and (I believe a retired set now from) My Favorite Things.

Have a great rest of the weekend!

2011 in Retrospect

Good Morning Everyone,

At the beginning of each year I like to take a moment and think about the year that's passed...what was good about it and what was bad about it. Remembering and thanking God for all the good things and {hopefully} ;) learning from the bad things. It sort of feels like a fresh start :)

In that same spirit I like to show you some of my favorite creations from last year:

Well that's it...I hope you enjoyed the little stroll down memory lane with me.
Time to create something new!!! lol

til next time,

Sony :)

{OMG} SFYTT

Hello everyone,

it's the very first Saturday of July...already. Are you ready for summer to start?! I know I am...although I probably won't get to see too much of it...being inside so much all the time buuut this weekend is definitely going to be a ton of fun. Tonight a bunch of my friends from school are going out, to celebrate end of finals (for some) and the beginning of a new term and then tomorrow I'm going to another friends' BBQ and then on monday I have a feeling I'm just going to do a ton of hugging my pillow and catching up on homework in front of the tv. :) My kinda weekend. :)

So let's talk cards tho shall we?!
Guess who our sponsor over at SFYTT is this month: it is My Favorite Things!!! You definitely want to check Jen's Blog for details on the deets, the prize this month aaand that's where you'll also upload your creations.

For my sample here I'm using the Die-Namics Say What Die & Stamp Set aaand can I tell you I LOVE this set?! I really really do and not just because you can do sooo many things with it but because it is also the perfect set for the so hard to make teenager cards. I'm sure you all know exactly what I'm talking about...so this right here, is cool enough even for the "hippest" teenagers. ;)

oh and the sketch...hehe...I almost forgot: love this sketch as well...so much fun. I got a little carried away and did a little more tilting aaand some additional layering but I'm sure you won't mind, right?! :)

Ready for some more eye candy?!
Stop by my amazing sisters for some more inspiration:
First of a very hearty and big welcome to Debbie Carriere -she is our fabulous Guest Designer this month and will be featured on Jen's Blog

thanks so much for stopping by and have an awesome weekend!!

{Tote-ally Fantastic}

I really fell in love with this color combo when I made my Wednesday Stamp Club card soo I sorta made a second card that day, using the same color scheme...hehe I just didn't really get around to posting it until now.

The stamps are from the set Tote-ally Fantastic by My Favorite Things, a spunky sassy set I love to go to because it puts a smile on my face everytime. I made the cute little banner using the Banner CutUps dies by the Cat's Pajamas...this is also where I get my Divine Twine which you see twirling around the banner. The papers are a mix and mash from My Mind's Eye Ooh La La and Quite Contrary. Some Stickles Glitter to the banner, two cute little buttons and a mini library clip complete the whole thing.

{Birthday Cake} MFT's Wednesday Stamp Club

Happy Monday everyone,

I needed a little break from drawing and designing this morning soo I took the chance to play along with this week's Wednesday Stamp Club challenge by My Favorite Things. This week Kim is challenging us to use her sketch and what a fun sketch it is.

To make everything fit just right I had to "shorten" my Birthday Girl just a wee bit and I angled the sentiment...just because it was fun. :) The papers I used are all from My Mind's Eye but different collections. I used the Ooh La La for him and paired it with some Quite Contrary papers. It's fun to mix different collections and also...more importantly really...keeps things interesting and keeps me from going out and buying more papers. The wonky swanky heart is cut out using the Heart Trio CutUps die from the Cat's Pajamas.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great
start to the week!!!  Time for me to get back to drawing :)

{oh the truffles I've seen...} SFYTT

Hi Guys,

well I'm back in town. I had a short but wonderful weekend trip with my older-youth group from church. We had gone up to San Francisco for the weekend and just had a blast. We had a Love&Respect seminar which I can honestly say has already changed my life.
This seminar is basically about male and female relationships, how we're inately different and what our deepest needs are and how to meet these needs to better our relationships.
I highly recommend this to anyone whether you're married or just dating but it really works.
I'm currently dating someone and we're going through a bit of a rough time (he lost his job and has been very distant lately) at the moment but I applied some of the things I learned and got an immediate response from him, during Sunday Night Football mind you ;). We're not in the clear yet obviously and if we're really meant to be together remains to be seen as well but at least I've found some comfort and peace that rest assured I did not have before this.

okay that now concludes the dear diary section of my post lol  and let me get back to why you're really here and that's to read something about cards:

It's Saturday and I think Jen came up with a really fun SFYTT sketch this week. I just had a blast playing with this one!!
If you have the time, why don't you play with us?! Make sure you upload your card to Jen's Blog and see if she picks you to be our next Guest Designer!!

I was so happy to dig up some MFT stamps that haven't even seen ink yet I was totally beside myself. lol I know it's the little things in life that make me happy, what can I say :)
So this cute bunny here is from the set Truffly Flopsey, a total must have if you're a chocaholic like me. I colored him in with Copics and added some glitter to the truffles...because it's all about the truffles don't you agree?
Well are you ready to see what my amazing SFYTT Sisters have come up with? Hop on over to their blogs and check them out!!!
