{Love U}

I had a lot of fun making the last clean card so I thought I'd go ahead and make another. I really love adding dimension through layering. For this card here, I started off with a white card as my base. I then use some black cardstock for framing and topped that off with another layer of white cardstock which I embossed to give it some interest and texture. I used one of my old Verve dies to cut out the U and put a piece of red cardstock behind that to make it pop. The final and very top layer was the little black heart, which went on top of everything.

Here is the final card:

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy crafting!

{Sending You Love}

Happy new year everyone,

I'm back with my very first card of 2019 and I wanted to keep it a bit more clean this time so I stuck to an almost all white card and really tried to constrain myself with the layering. For this card I used the Clouds CutUps Die from TCP. I used a polka dot embossing folder for my sky, just to add a bit more texture to it and pop the clouds a bit more. The sentiment is from the Just Let it Happen set by TCP and the rocket is from an older, now unfortunately retired TCP set.

Here is my card:

Thanks so much for stopping by and to a happy crafting 2019 :)

{my umbrella} Stamp Medley

Hi everyone,

it's been raining almost this entire week here in San Francisco so no wonder I was inspired to make a rainy day umbrella card but here's the thing...I didn't necessarily have the perfect stamp for what I wanted to do so I decided to mix and match stamps from different sets. The cutie you see here is PJ from the Cat's Pajama's set "A Beary Good Year" ( I think this set is retired now sadly) and the umbrella and the sentiment are from the Verve set "Rain or Shine". I colored the bear using copic markers and added some frosted lace stickles to his belly and nose for added sparkle. I paper pieced the umbrella, colored over it and then added some crystal effect to get the shiny plastic look. The stitching behind the umbrella is the rain.

thanks so much for stopping by and hope you stay dry!!

{Happy Valentine's Day} February Diva Inspiration Blog Hop

Hi Guys and Welcome to our February Diva Inspiration Blog Hop,

well it's February which means Valentine's Day is coming up which always makes me think of chocolate sooo that's how I ended up with this sweet shoppe inspired color theme of mine here. :)
I've been super busy ...again...what's new right?! lol
But we're about midway through our term so finals are kicking in. On top of that I'm hoping to either get an internship or even a job next term which means I've had to put a demo reel together, look at companies' job listings and write cover letters. I have not had to write a cover letter in AGES!!! lol
I had to do some serious research to figure out what to even put in them! lol

Anyway...God willing I will find the right job at the right time! :)
Also a quick update on my dad: he's doing (all things considering) well. He just had his third chemo treatment this week. They haven't found any more tumors so that is wonderful news and he even started to do a little tinkering around the house again...well...whenever he has his energy back at least. :)

So now that I've caught you up on my life....let's talk Verve!!!!
If you've hopped along that you got here from Shannan's Blog, right?! Did she have something amazing for you or what?! Sooo ...

you could win a little Verve-y goodness!!
Wanna know how?
All you have to do is leave a little comment love on all our blog hop spots
and you're automatically entered in our drawing!! For all the details please check out the

Best of luck and now hop on along to Susan!!
I know you're going to be blown away by what she has in store for you!!!

til next time :)

{Love is in the Air} TCP Tuesday 191 & Mojo 222

a Hi and a Purge Hop Sneak Peek,

I had a little time today (before school starts back up on monday) so I got ink-y with it and combined this week's TCP Tuesday challenge with this week's Mojo Monday challenge aaand here's my result.

As you can see in the banner above my post...some of us Verve Divas are getting together for a Purge Blog Hop....we all have some new and/or gently used supplies we'd like to pass on to new homes. The blog hop will start January 21st...you'll have one week to leave a comment on each of the blogs and then each of us will select a random winner for the goodies we have to give away.
Why am I telling you all about it now?!
Because the cute little rocket and the Love is in the Air sentiment are both from the TCP set Puppy Love which I will be giving away. This is a brand new set and I think it's no longer available sooo if you'd like to have it be sure to come back here on the 21st to leave a comment or two. Oh and the dotted teal DP is part of the papers I'm giving away as well.

The other stamps I used for my card are from the TCP set Love Letters and the Verve set Let it Shine.
I used the matching CutUps Stamp Trio to cut out the cute little stamp and I used MFT's cloud Die-namic dies for the clouds.
I embossed the Kraft CS with the Seeing Spots Embossing Folder by Cuttlebug and the Summer Sunrise CS with the Perfect Polka Dotted Embossing Folder by Stampin' Up.

thanks so much for stopping by!
See you next time!!

Hello everyone,

it's the very first Saturday of July...already. Are you ready for summer to start?! I know I am...although I probably won't get to see too much of it...being inside so much all the time buuut this weekend is definitely going to be a ton of fun. Tonight a bunch of my friends from school are going out, to celebrate end of finals (for some) and the beginning of a new term and then tomorrow I'm going to another friends' BBQ and then on monday I have a feeling I'm just going to do a ton of hugging my pillow and catching up on homework in front of the tv. :) My kinda weekend. :)

So let's talk cards tho shall we?!
Guess who our sponsor over at SFYTT is this month: it is My Favorite Things!!! You definitely want to check Jen's Blog for details on the deets, the prize this month aaand that's where you'll also upload your creations.

For my sample here I'm using the Die-Namics Say What Die & Stamp Set aaand can I tell you I LOVE this set?! I really really do and not just because you can do sooo many things with it but because it is also the perfect set for the so hard to make teenager cards. I'm sure you all know exactly what I'm talking about...so this right here, is cool enough even for the "hippest" teenagers. ;)

oh and the sketch...hehe...I almost forgot: love this sketch as well...so much fun. I got a little carried away and did a little more tilting aaand some additional layering but I'm sure you won't mind, right?! :)

{Rain or Shine} SFYTT & Unity

Hi guys and a happy happy weekend to you all,

this is my last weekend of free time before the mayhem of school starts back up for me aaand I actually did some relaxing today, no running errands, no working on personal projects...no I went to the beach with friends and it was just the perfect day. The weather was gorgeous! We found the perfect parking spot, right by the stairs leading down to the beach by the Santa Monica Pier. We had a fantastic lunch at this little Indian place. It was delicious!! Oh and then we had front row seats to watching this poor guy who was completely intoxicated, fall all over the place and then he eventually got himself arrested. It was quite the day....minus the hour and a half it took to get back home (rush hour...gotta love LA). Oh but best of all it looks as though I didn't get sunburned!!!! Yay!! That is quite the accomplishment considering I haven't been in the sun for months!

But let me get on and tell you about our SFYTT challenge this month. Are you ready?! This month's challenge is being sponsored by Unity Stamps so be sure to stop by Jen's Blog to enter your creations and see what goodies you can win.

For my card here I'm using their Rain or Shine stamp. The papers are from the Quite Contrary collection by My Mind's Eye.

Well this is when I should probably break the bittersweet news to you all: bitter because we're saying farewell to two of our fabulous sisters and sweet because we're welcoming a new sister into our midst so let me make this quick....like pulling off a bandaid: Amy R. and Leigh are leaving and Terri Moore is joining. Please stop by their blogs to say your farewells and welcomes!!!
Here's your Sisterhood lineup:

and a special warm welcome to our guest designer this month: Jen Shults - yay Jen!!! We're so glad to have you!!

that's all I have for you today folks!!!
Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Stamping!!!

{Love & Kisses} TCP Tuesday 147

Hi guys,

Sony here and I am your Hipster Hostess with the mostess over at TCP Tuesday this week aaaand you can already guess what that means right?! Yup...a color challenge!!! So...are you ready?!

I was channeling summer already when I came up with this one...Alma refers to it as the yummy ice cream color challenge lol:

Pink, Chocolate Brown and Teal are the colors this week.

I hope you like the combo...I had a lot of fun with it...even though this card took a wee bit longer to put together than usual. So let me tell you what I used to make this card because it is a hodge podge of goodies I admit:
I put the sentiment together using stamps from the set Love Letters. The hearts are cut out using our Heart Trio CutUps die from the Cat's Pajamas and the fun little cork border was cut out using our Icing Border CutUps die. The grosgrain ribbon and the beige unfurry twine are both available at the Cat's Pajamas as well and then I used an assortment of Nesties and Embossing Folders for the rest.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
I can't wait to see your yummy ice cream creations ;) oh just click on the graphic in my sidebar for all the deets on how you can play along.

{Candylove} TCP Tuesday 146

Hi everyone,

I'm back with post #2 today since it is Tuesday and that means we have another challenge for you at TCP Tuesday. Julie is our hostess with the mostess and she's challenging us to incorporate candy into our projects and I have to admit that had me quite stomped but eventually I came up with something...sooo here are some detail shots of my chocolate-y card and my chocolate lollipops:

The lollipops were truly simple to make and make the purrfect little treat for friends and family.
What sort of goodies did I use for this little project?
The stamps are from the Got Love and Love Letter sets. I also used our Heart Trio and Icing CutUps dies from the Cat's Pajamas. Then I used Copics to color in my penguin, some Crystal Stickles Glitter for  the flowers, some stitching, brads and ribbon to tie everything in together.

I can't wait to see what candy-licious creations you guys come up with!!!

{Bee} TCP Tuesday 144

Hi everyone,

I'm here on a Wednesday with my TCP Tuesday card...I know it's a wee bit wonky but I had so many things going on at the beginning of this month that  I wanted to space things out a bit.
Soo let's chat TCP Tuesday shall we?

This week Leigh is our hipster hostess with the mostess and that means it's time for a sketch challenge over at The Cat's Pajamas. It is an awesome fun sketch so I hope you don't miss out on this one.
Play along and be sure to link your card to Alma's Blog for a chance of winning the title Swanky Stamper of the month and $25 in Cat Cash to spend at the Cat's Pajamas website. For all the deets and the link list just click on the sketch icon in my sidebar.

I used our adorable PJ from the just released set Honey Bear annd I used our Love Letters set with the matching CutUps dies of course. I love love love the Love Letters set because it is so amazingly versatile, you can customize it, use it with any other stamp you have and a little postage stamp makes the perfect little accent for any card. It's a little piece of stamp heaven lol

Hello everybody and a happy happy Tuesday to you!!!
This week we have a stamp challenge for you over at TCP Tuesday: Susan is our hostess with the mostess and her challenge for us is I {Heart} Love -  use a TCP stamp that contains the word "Love" or "Heart".  Not  all that hard right?! Especially since Valentine's Day is just around the corner!!!
Click here to see all the deets on Alma's Blog!

So I'm showing off one of our newest sets over at the Cat's Pajamas. It's the Penguin from Got Love
and how can you not love a floating penguin?!

I colored him using copic markers, a white pen for the highlights and then I
added some Crystal Effects to the balloons for some shine and some Stickles Glitter to the flowers
for some spark! :)

Oh and the cute cloud background?! I made that by sponging different ink on paper first, then
stamped the clouds from the Happy Camper set and colored them in with a white ink pen.
Voila - you made your own DP. :)

{For You}

Hi everyone,

I'm just dropping in real quick to share this card I made using the Verve set Great Friends. I managed to keep this card relatively clean and simple which if you know me was really quite the challenge for me. I always want to add something here or there so this was somethin' else lol.

The polka-dotted paper is from the Ducks in a Row collection by October Afternoon and the striped paper is from the Ooh La La collection by My Mind's Eye. Oh and to give your flower that little extra oomphf  simply use your X-acto knife, trace around some of the petals and fluff them up a bit. It'll make your flower look more three dimensional. :)

thanks so much for stopping by,
'til next time,

~ Sony
