{Easter Joy} Diva Inspirations

Hi guys,

I'm back with another Diva Inspiration card for you. I tried something a little bit different this time: I had come across a Tim Holtz demo video on Distress Inks and decided to give that a try. I posted the tutorial here for you and I used the techniques shown in that video to get that red/peach/yellow tie dye patterned paper you see on my card.

Here's the video:

Fun right?
I took some vanilla cardstock, crinkled it up and stamped melon mambo across the raised creases. Then I took my crushed curry and mountain rose stamp pads and padded them onto my non-stick craft sheet. I sprayed some water on the ink and padded my cardstock on the ink, then applied some heat to dry the cardstock. As finishing touches I darkened the edges and used stamps from Accent Notes and Bountiful Background to make my patterned paper.

Now to the rest of the card: the sentiment and the easter eggs are both from the set Easter Joy. I also used Verve's Classy Label Die and Embossed Oval die...looove them!!! Oh and then I had lots of fun embellishing with Liquid Pearls...they save me from having to pull out my sewing machine ;).
The yellow patterned paper is from the Fine and Dandy collection by My Mind's Eye and the brown polka dotted paper is from the Fly a Kite collection by October Afternoon.

thanks so much for stopping by...
have a wonderful week and have a happy and blessed Easter!!!

{Ducky Easter} Diva Inspirations

Hii guys,

well it's about time I'm back with another Diva Inspirations card don't you think?
I sure thought so and with Easter right around the corner....how about a Verve-y Easter Blessings card?
I paired some old with some new to make this card:
The cute ducky is from the newly released set Lucky Ducky. The sentiment is from the set Egg-stra Special and the adorable frame is from the set To The Moon. I "hung" the frame up using some Divine Twine (available at the Cat's Pajamas)  and a brad,

The papers are mostly from the Fly a Kite collection by October Afternoon. The teal Zigzag DP is from the Fine and Dandy collection by My Mind's Eye and the green DP I used to paperpiece the ducky is from the Girl Friday collection by Cosmo Cricket.

thanks so much for stopping in today,
have a great week!!!

{Sprung} TCP Tuesday 150

Hi guys,

well finals are finally coming to an end...I'm soo excited to have a few days off before it all starts back up again even though I plan on getting some major drawing and painting in during my "break". And then next term is supposed to be our toughest and busiest yet!!! Eeeek!!! I am a little worried I'm not gonna lie. I just hope that I'll be able to get all my work done somehow. We'll see...

but until then let me share my card I made for this week's TCP Tuesday challenge with you all. Leigh is our hostess with the mostess and she has cooked up a yummy sketch challenge for all of us.

Here they are:

I really came to enjoy this sketch even though I had no idea what to do with it the first time I saw it.
So I was channeling ...somehow... a scrappy, shabby homemade look today and this is the result:
I used stamps from the set Blow and a few of our CutUps dies such as the Banner die and the Pinking Border die. I went through my scrap paper bag today so the papers I used are from all over the place: there's some 7 Gypsies, October Afternoon and Cosmo Cricket in there.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
I hope you get to play along!!!

{Vroom Vroom} TCP Tuesday103

Ouh I'm running late late late so this is going to be short short short. lol
We're having movie night (we're gonna watch the Gospel of John) at my church tonight with pizza and blankets and all that fun stuff. Can't wait!!!

Anyway - it's Tuesday and time for TCP Tuesday!!! This week Susan challenged us to use any TCP stamp!

Well that one was easy for me because as I was writing Easter cards yesterday I realized that I was about uhm 5 cards short...so guess what kinda stamps I picked today?!

So my card features Poochie in his yummy carrot car from the TCP set Spring Fling. The mushrooms are also from that set and I just love how they tie in the red and white polka-dotted ribbon. The sentiment is from the TCP set A Beary Good Year, such a must have set!

I used papers from the Garden Variety Mini Deck collection by Cosmo Cricket. I love all those bright colors!!

Oh and I saw how Jody made these awesome zig zag stitches around her circular images so I tried that today and let me tell ya...not half as easy as she makes it look!!!
Jody - I'm going to have to ask you for some pointers on that one because mine are kinda all over the place! lol
Oh well...I guess it adds a bit of a handmade charm to it all, right?

I gotta run!!!
Catch you next time! :)

Fruity Egg Hunt

Last night was the first time I went to the Passion Play, a play that the Church Shepherd of the Hill puts on every year. It was great!! Very well done, from the set dressing to the performances and the performers had some voices on them!! Really great!

Can you believe that Easter is only a few weeks away?! Time is just flying by this year.
I think I need to make a few more cards and Jen' sketch over at SFYTT this week is just awesome!!

I just got some new Cosmo Cricket
paper and have been dying to use it. The papers are from the Garden Variety Mini Deck. Love the size of the Mini Decks - they are perfect for card making!

My little penguins and the sentiment are from the Cat's Pajama's set Spring Fling. Aren't they just too cute?

For the extra special sum'thin' sum'thin' I added brads in the upper right corner and I did a little bit of paper piercing in the upper left and bottom right corner as well as around the sentiment. There's a little detail shot below.

Happy Egg Hunt, everyone!!
